Boże Ciało

Last night was a unique night at one of the bridges. Hundreds of peopl gathered to float lighted balloons in the air.

Tileman laid almost all of the tiles today, only four to go but that may take until Monday.  Today started the long weekend of Boże Ciało(Corpus Christi). It is a thankful and joyful celebration in Poland that always falls 60 days after Easter. 



In  Poland the first time the ceremony was introduced byBishop Nankiera in 1320 in Krakow.. In  1420 at the Synod of Gniezno was considered as a universal feast, celebrated in all churches in the country. In the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the largest sanctuary of the cult of Corpus Christi in Poland was the Poznań church of Corpus Christi.

In Poland, the celebration of ceremonies connected with a procession of the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of the parish. The procession stops at four altars in succession, at which they are linked thematically reading four fragments of the Gospel.

In Poland, the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ is  a public holiday from work.


Tileman określonych prawie wszystkie klocki dziś tylko cztery pójść, ale która może potrwać do poniedziałku. Dzisiaj rozpoczął długi weekend Bożego Ciała (Corpus Christi). Jest to wdzięczny i radosne święto w Polska, która zawsze przypada 60 dni po Wielkanocy.

 W Polska po raz pierwszy uroczystość została wprowadzona byBishop Nankiera w 1320 roku w Krakowie .. W 1420 na synodzie gnieźnieńskim uznano za uniwersalne święto, obchodzone we wszystkich kościołach w kraju. W późnym średniowieczu i renesansie, największym sanktuarium kultu Bożego Ciała w Polska była w kościele Bożego Ciała Poznań.

W Polska, obchody uroczystości związane z procesją z Najświętszym Sakramentem po ulicach parafii. Procesja zatrzymuje się przy czterech ołtarzy z rzędu, w którym są one związane tematycznie czytania cztery fragmenty Ewangelii.

W Polska, Uroczystość Najświętszego Ciała i Krwi Chrystusa jest święto od pracy.
