Homeward Bound!

Sunday morning at 8AM we said goodbye to Tony and Jackie, thanked them for their hospitality and headed to Dover for the ferry crossing. We arrived there early so we were able to get on an earlier ferry than scheduled and made the crossing to France. Zbyszek had the first turn at driving.

The weather was clear and sunny so we had no problems driving and continued our travel all the way to just past the Polish border and by that time it was 9:30PM and we were all tired and hungry. We stopped for coffee along the way but didn't eat since breakfast.

The different license plates were interesting although most were of them had the EU symbol on the side of the blue flag with a circle of yellow stars. An additional letter or letters were on the other side with either F for France, B for Belgium, D for Germany(Deutschland), NL for Netherlands, GB for Great Britain and PL for Poland.

Germany was also interesting for it's different elevations and wide panoramic vistas plus the wind generators that dominate the landscape of eastern Germany. There is a definite difference between western and eastern Germany in that. The old communist watch towers of the old days are still up to be seen at the separating point of the two parts of the country. In the western part there are wind generators but you only see one or two at a time. Once into eastern Germany you see wind generator farms with 10 to 15 generators at a time. The pictures in the slide show are almost all of separate farms seen in the east. I heard two theories about why it is like that. The first is that most of the money is still in the west and the powers that be don't want to destroy the scenery in western Germany so the farms were put in the east. The second is that the strongest wind patterns are in the east so that is why the farms are so prevalent in the east. I tend to think the latter reason makes more sense.

We stopped in Rzepin for dinner and took a room for the night. In the morning as we neared Swiebodzin, Poland the tallest statue of Jesus Christ was very visible although we didn't get close enough for a good picture.

Back in Poland the roads shrunk down to one lane roads and travelled slowed until we reached Nowy Tomysl when we got on the motorway to speed our return home. We reached home about noon on Monday and it was good to be back in Poland.

All in all, it was a good vacation. We saw some beautiful places, scenery and had time to spend with Zbyszek, Jackie and Tony. However, if we do it again we will fly next time. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. As usual, I probably took too many but with a digital camera it's easy to do that.

Niedziela rano na 8 pożegnaliśmy Tony i Jackie, podziękował im za ich gościnność i udał się do Dover na prom. Dotarliśmy tam na początku byliśmy w stanie dostać się na prom wcześniej niż zaplanowane i wykonane przejście do Francji. Zbyszek miał w pierwszej turze na prawo jazdy.
Pogoda była jasna i słoneczna więc nie mieliśmy problemów z jazdy i kontynuowaliśmy naszą podróż na drodze do tuż za polską granicą i w tym czasie było 21:30 i wszyscy byliśmy zmęczeni i głodni. Zatrzymaliśmy się na kawę po drodze, ale nie jeść od śniadania.
Soszczególne tablice rejestracyjne były ciekawe, choć większość z nich nie były symbolem UE na stronie niebieską flagę z żółtymi gwiazdami kręgu. Dodatkowe litery lub liter były po drugiej stronie albo F dla Francji, B dla Belgii, D dla Niemiec (Deutschland), NL w przypadku Niderlandów, GB, Wielkiej Brytanii i na PL Polska.
Niemcy także interesujące jest to różnych wysokościach i szerokie panoramiczne widoki oraz generatorów wiatrowych, które dominują w krajobrazie wschodnich Niemiec. Istnieje wyraźna różnica między Niemcami zachodniej i wschodniej w tym. Stary komunistyczny wieże z dawnych czasów są wciąż widoczne w momencie wyodrębnienia się z dwóch części kraju. W zachodniej części znajdują się generatory wiatrowe, ale tylko jedna lub dwie na raz. Gdy w Niemczech wschodnich widzisz gospodarstw generator wiatru od 10 do 15 generatorów w czasie. Zdjęcia w pokazie slajdów są prawie wszystkie odrębnych gospodarstw widzieli na wschód. Słyszałem dwie teorie na temat dlaczego tak jest. Po pierwsze, większość z tych pieniędzy jest wciąż na zachód i moce być nie chce, aby zniszczyć dekoracje w zachodnich Niemczech tak gospodarstw zostały wprowadzone na wschodzie. Drugi to, że najsilniejszy wiatr wzory są na wschodzie tak dlatego hodowle są tak rozpowszechnione na Wschodzie. Zwykle uważają ten ostatni powód jest bardziej sensowne.
Zatrzymaliśmy się w Rzepinie na kolację i miała pokój na noc. Rankiem, kiedy zbliżał Świebodzin, Polska najwyższy posąg Jezusa Chrystusa było bardzo widoczne, chociaż nie na tyle blisko do dobrego obrazu.
Powrót na drogach Polska skurczyła się do jednego pasa drogi i udał się wolniej, aż dotarliśmy do Nowego Tomyśla, gdy mamy na autostradzie do prędkości naszego powrotu do domu. Dotarliśmy do domu około południa w poniedziałek i było dobrze być z powrotem w Polska.

W sumie był to dobry urlop. Widzieliśmy wiele pięknych miejsc, krajobrazów i dużo czasu spędzać z Zbyszek, Jackie i Tony. Jednakże, jeśli będziemy to robić znowu będziemy lecieć następnym razem. Mam nadzieję, że podobał Ci się zdjęcia. Jak zwykle, prawdopodobnie miały zbyt wiele, ale z aparatu cyfrowego można łatwo zrobić.
