Beautiful Day!

A beautiful day today, way to nice to stay inside so we left about noon with no particular destination in mind. First we had to wait in Gołęciń for the 12:10 train to pass. As usual, the gates came down and then 6 minutes later the train finally passed by allowing traffice to move.

We headed down Aleja Wiekapolska, one of the nice avenues seperated with a tree lined sidewalk. I like this place, it always look nice no matter what season. From there we parked in front of the National Art Museum and took a walk to take some flower pictures, walked around the museum, down through Stary Rynek, past a small church and then up the hill to the Kings castle which was being visited by several groups of children wearing different colored caps so the teacher who was in charge would not lose track of the kids.

Leaving the castle we passed by a nice redbrick building decorated with white bricks then on to Plac Wolnośći to take another picture.

Back in the car we drove towards home but I wanted to stop at a railroad track that is just before the town of Suchy Las. I saw a nice crop of dandelions there yesterday and wanted to add them to my picture collection for today. While driving there I noticed a group of four bycyclist taking a small sideroad past an old building and since I haven't traveled on that road before I decided to go back to it after I took the dandelion pictures.

The road turned into a small dirt road, I think only used now by cyclist and walkers. We parked the car and started walking and it took us out to open fields of what must have been a large farm at one time. In the distance was a forest and we walked towards it but it turned out farther than we thought it would be so we didn't make it that far this time. However, it is a great place for walking and cycling, no cars and no people. We may go back tomorrow for a longer walk and maybe take a lunch with us, depending on the weather.

Slideshow.

    Hi...
Nice slideshow AGAIN!!! I love the close-up tulip picture! We had a cloudy day with a few sprinkles. More rain for tonight and tomorrow, but badly needed.
    Hugs,

  2. Yes, I thought it was time to put some nice pictures out there. This whole section of the street in front of the Museum is always done nicely with flowers in the spring. We drove down sw. Marciń, the main street through Poznań, and the tulips are just coming up there. I'll show you that when they are ready.
