Gladiolas.

The gladiolas Joan received have opened up and they really look nice now. I took a couple of photos with different lighting.

Another great day outside. We went for a long walk, did laundry, studied Polish and kind of laid around the house all day.

Tomorrow is Sept. 1st, 2009 and Poland is prepared for it. It's a remembrance day of what happened 70 years ago when Nazi Germany invaded Poland. There is much controversary in the air now. Russia, through the voice of prime minister Putin is claiming it was Polands fault the war started and the it was Stalin who actually saved Europe. No mention of the millions of people killed by the Soviet troops or exiled into Siberia. He is trying to rewrite history to make Stalin a hero for the Russian people. So sad. If you read any international news you may have heard about this.

Gladiolas Joan otrzymana otworzyły i oni naprawdę wyglądają miły teraz.

On próbuje przepisać historię by zrobić Stalin bohaterem dla rosyjskich ludzi. Tak smutny. Jeżeli czytasz jakiekolwiek międzynarodowe wiadomości mogłeś usłyszeć o tym.

  1. I used this whole allegation as a way to explain the word scapegoat to some of my high school students when I was in Poland teaching English. It really helps to connect the real world with the language.
