Poznań Night

I had to make a trip to Swarzędz last night for my quarterly checkup with the neurologist. Living on the west side of Poznań I had to travel through the center of it and was pleasantly surprised to see Christmas decorations on all of the lamp posts and on the center of streets. I don't remember them being there last year. They look like tree branches and are all in little blue lights. Some of the bigger trees on Sw. Marciń street had blue lights strung all over them. Maybe the decorations are there because of the Climate Conference in Poznań and has many visitors from different countries. Whatever the reason, they look beautiful.

Today was a "usual" day for us. Study Polish, learn 5 new words, Joan did the laundry, I vaccumed the house and the weather was rainy, gray and cloudy. We spent a little money on movies to watch. We bought them from Amazon.com and will receive them in about a month.

Tomorrow I go to see cousin Rózia and help her with learning English. I look forward to this time.

I'm more than half done indexing the book of palaces in Wielkopolska and when I'm done I will be able to setup excursions to different gminas and know what towns or villages where these places exist. This region is rich in history and this book is so valuable to me. 945 palaces and manor houses! It will take years to see them all but we have the time and we enjoy our trips.

I was looking, again, at cousin Marilyn Mapes pictures of the Thanksgiving celebration in America with Rajewski cousins. It's amazing! 48 people and 3 families could not make it to the celebration. Marilyn spent a lot of time posting the pictures and putting names with all the pictures. For me, that is so important in genealogical research. I've collected over a thousand pictures since I began my research of my family but pictures without names are not so valuable for future generations. Marilyn has become the historian for my Rajewski side of the family in Michigan. There are three of us now who do this work for future generations, myself, cousin Krzysztof Kupiński and now Marilyn.

Wydaliśmy trochę pieniędzy na kinie by oczekiwać.

Jutro idę zobaczyć kuzyna Rózia i pomóc jej z nauką Anglików. Oczekuję tym razem.

Jestem więcej niż pół zrobione indeksowanie książki pałaców w Wielkopolsce i kiedy będę zrobiony będę zdolny do wycieczek struktury do różnego gminas i będę znać jakie miasta albo wsie gdzie te miejsca istnieją. 945 pałaców i dworki! To zajmie lata by zobaczyć ich wszystko oprócz mamy czas i cieszymy się naszymi podróżami.

Popatrzałem, znowu, na kuzyna Marilyn mapy zdjęcie celebrowania Dziękczynienia w Ameryce z kuzynami Rajewski. To zdumieje!

David, where's the photo? Sounds lovely. Would be great to see some nice snowy views too.
Well done for having others in the extended family interested in recording information for future generations.

  2. Sorry Bronwyn,
I didn't have my camera with me. I'm going back one night this week to take some pictures. We haven't any snow at this time so no snow pictures yet.

Yes, it's always a joy when others are interested in being involved with the genealogy.
